Funny thing about the raid on Maple Leaf Outfitters, they were only shut down for a couple of days not a week and then were told they could continue the hunt WITHOUT having to make any changes. This Aug. will be 2 yrs. since the raid and they have yet to have their day in court and have yet been found guilty of nothing!!!! P.S.--- WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO DAVE RAMSEY????????? Paul Miller <pkmiller351@yahoo.com> Pennsylvania, - Saturday, February 02, 2008.

Looking for great bear hunting guide in the area w accomidiations. Tried to locate Maple Leaf Camp but thier website dosn't have any location except for MacPherson's Mike DeVore <mike_devore@hotmail.com> Detroit Mi, 586-203-8111 - Tuesday, January 08, 2008.
Please don't blame the License seller. It is the Outfitter you should be ticked at.Dont judge all of our Outfitters by one scupulous person. That outfitter was out for the money not the hunter.Try again.Golden Eagle Campis a wonderful Outfitter as well as A&G Guiding in Matachewan. I am sorry your trip ended the way it did. Try us again. Matach - Wednesday, January 02, 2008.
I Was In Your area In 06 For A Bear Hunt, The Only Thing Good I Can Say About It It Is Buatiful Country Other Than That It Was The Worst Experiance Of My Life. The Camp Was Raided By About 30 Law Enforcement Officers For Ilegal Baiting It Was Shut Down For One Week My Sons Bear Was Taken And i Lost $1500.00 In The Deal. We Were Crusified For What The Outfitter Done With Out Any Knowledge To Us.I Feel It Was Unfair To The Hunters To Be Denied There Hunt For Something We Knew Nothing About. In Fact We Got Our License At Your Store Need Less To Say We Will Never Be To Canada Again And Dont Recomend Anyone Else To Go There. Thank You Fred Hetrick <fungo@iwon.com> Pa, - Tuesday, January 01, 2008.
IT was great to see you Ian and Val. I had a good time visiting my parents, the only thing I missed was that there was nobody out on the sleds. It was like Kenogami had died. Dear Ian, I have purchased Canadian Trail Permits and enjoyed snowmobiling in Kirkland Lake for many years. I have been to your place many times, along with viewing your web site daily. I now wonder if the days of the American Snowmobiler going to Canada is coming to an end. I don't think its the price of gas or the increase in price of the trail permits or even the long delays at the border crossings. In the past Canadian Hospitality over came these objectives. The problem seems to be the hostility between the Canadian and US Goverments and towards George Bush. When and if the rockets go off in Toronto, do you think George Bush will answer the call and come running. Who else cares? The Americans and Canadians should be the best of friends not unruly neighbors. Till we meet again, I remain to be your friend to the South. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Terry - Friday, December 24, 2004.

Regarding the message posted below: Most sledders should know that the OFSC support bannerdisplayed on the front entrance of participating businesses means that the enterprise is acontributing financial partner with the local OFSC club. The level of sponsorship the businessprovides is dependent on the direct return from local snowmobiling that it enjoys. The OFSCgoes to great lengths to encourage sledders to support their sponsors. The issue of sustainabilityhas been at the core of concern of organized recreational snowmobiling in this province since itsinception. Risk management has been its prime peril as liability insurance gobbles up a biggerpiece of the budget pie every year. It seams that most snowmobile clubs are hurting for funds to operate. Do the businesses that survive quite well off these snowmobilers donate any funds to their local clubs? AND IF NOT WHY NOT?I'm talking about business that own motels, resturants, gas bars, snowmobile sales and rental shops and anyone else that makes money from this tourist buisness. What would happen if the trails where closed perminatly?Think about that for a moment. losing a good thing - Wednesday, February 04, 2004.

I take it that Hwy 11 is open once again. I'm very interested in this because in the next couple of weeks I have to leave Toronto to pick up my 4Runner at Murdoch's. By the way, if anyone is checking in from National car rental, I love the Trail Blazer. I did have one hell of a time parking it in my garage in Toronto though. I wasn't thinking of that when I wanted to rent the biggest vehicle they had short of a transport.I hope my friends Erin and Louise are back safe and sound after my mishap, then theirs a few days later on Hwy 101. Do you think the Quebecers were trying to find a way to get back at Ontario by not salting and sanding the roads. In all honesty, the two Temiscaming police officers who helped me in my accident were extremely nice. For those who don't know me, I have two yellow labs, named Sam and Leo. My clothes were wet. It was -28C. The 2 officers couldn't let me wait the 3 hrs for friends from Round Lake to retrieve me because they were the only 2 on duty. They talked the owner of L'Auberge Canadien in Temiscamingue to house me and Sam and Leo for 3 hrs until help arrived. But regardless of my Quebec Samaritans, I'm so glad Hwy 11 is open when Murdoch's had my vehicle ready. And exactly when is that? Kidding aside, they've been wonderful. Thank you all my norther and norther Quebec friends and acquaintances. It means a lot to a southerner! Patti Lalonde <towandaunleashed@rogers.com> - Thursday, January 30, 2003.
It was nice to see the highway open at noon the other day. My coment is why did it take IMOS 20 hours after the highway was open, for them to take down the detour signs in Kenogami? where they on an extended coffee break? lost - Wednesday, January 29, 2003.

On Sunday, Jan. 19 I was travelling to my home in Toronto. I lost control of my vehicle on Hwy 101 in Quebec and rolled over in a field on the opposite side of the road. I'm okay. My puppies Sam and Leo are okay. Some Round Lake friends came to retrieve me in Temiscaming where I had the accident. When I got back to my home on Round Lake, I unpacked my food cooler and not one of my eggs was broken. They were Omega 3 eggs in case anyone was interested. I think there is a commercial in there somewhere. Don't you? Anyway the following Friday, I summoned the courage to try to head home again in a rental vehicle. I rented a monster SUV. Anyway, my friend Erin Flicho, also of Round Lake was heading into Toronto with her friend Louise. About 10km from where I had my accident, she lost control of her truck. Fortunately, she didn't roll over and landed right side up in a ditch on the opposite side of the highway. She was able to continue safely on her journey after a tow truck got her out of the ditch. Anyone travelling on Hwy 101, be very alert on the stretch between Laniel and Temiscaming. I arrived safely in Toronto. The only trouble I had when I got back to the city was parking that monster SUV (rented from National in Kirkland by the way)in my garage in Toronto. I was one of the Michiganders visiting on Jan 29, 02. We were in Larder Lk. for a week at The Country Motor Inn. We really enjoyed the trails in the TATA region and appreciate your hospitality. We got a kick out of your comments as to our low windshields and the snocross style helmets a couple of the guys were wearing. We are all seasoned riders and although your temps were minus 30, we've ridden in much worse. We chose to be "stylish" over the bulky "Batcycle" windshields we save for really cold weather. We all have heated helmet shields and communicators for safety. We belong to one of the largest Snomobile Clubs in Michigan, The SnomadS Snofari Club. We have spread the word about your trails and hospitality, so be prepared for an invasion of fun loving, safety consious, family oriented sledders. Ron Schroeder V.P. Hi Ian And Val. Dad is visiting us here in West Michigan, and we checked into your web site to catch up on things up north. Great pictures of Lake Kenogami at the winter solstice. We live about a 10 minute drive from the Eastern Shore of Lake Michigan, and it is NOT frozen over. As a matter of fact, there isn't any snow - the tempreatures are hovering around 45 Deg F (7 Deg C). We have had the warmest November to date. Please extend to our friends in Sesikenika, Kenogami, and Kirkland Lake a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Rob, Sandra, Derrick, and Tommy. (oh yes, Dad too!)
